Reese calls Quincy,Ca. his home. He was married to his beautiful wife Rebecca in January of 1999. They since have had five children, 4 Sons and a Daughter, who love the outdoors just as much as their parents.

Reese was born and raised in Northeastern California where he grew up learning to hunt and fish from his father. He is an avid hunter whose adventures have taken him to most of the Western United States and Alaska. Reese has been fishing since he was a small child and has learned the skills that have made his family some of the most successful fishermen in the area.

Reese decided to share his fishing success with others than just his family and friends.  He opened Reese’s Fish Hunt which provides guided light tackle fishing adventures on several of the lakes in the Quincy area.


-The Gear

The trips are conducted on Reese’s 21’ Thunderjet fishing boat which has been equipped with quality electronics and gear.  Mounted to a custom hand wash station on the transom of the boat is a 9.9 Yamaha 4stroke kicker motor with remote steering and throttle control.  A Minn Kota I-pilot (GPS controlled) bow mount trolling motor assists Reese in keeping hands free control of the boat while fishing.

Reese’s boat is also equipped with a Lowrance HDS 10 with 2D sonar. This high definition graph also has the Down Scan and Side Scan Imaging technology from Lowrance. Using this sonar coupled with his 4 Cannon downriggers, Reese is able to put the lures where the fish are.

During the cold weather months, which are generally the best times to fish for trophy trout, Reese’s boat can be enclosed with top, side and back drop curtains for your comfort and enjoyment.  The cabin can be heated for the comfort of the fishers. Reese’s boat will easily fish up to 5 people plus guide.

In the winter of 2011 Reese had the outside of his custom boat completely redisigned by Vision Graphix and Design.

-What to Bring

All tackle is provided during the trips so all you need to bring is appropriate clothing for the weather, sunglasses and sunscreen, fishing license, camera, lunch, ice chest with ice to transport your catch home (for Mackinaw I encourage catch and release) and your favorite fishing or hunting stories.


-The Trip

During your trip Reese will encourage you to be as hands on as possible.  Fishermen of all experience levels are welcome. He will teach you how the equipment works and share with you many of his secrets to successfully fish the lake.

After fishing for a full 8 hours, your catch will be cleaned or filleted and packaged for your trip home on Reese’s custom built fillet station with wash down pump. You will be returned to your vehicle with memories that will last a lifetime.
